IRC Chat

I think it would be a good idea if this site had an irc chat. Not one on an independant server, just one ON this website with it's own server, so only people on the site could go on it, if thats possible. There could be channels for each forums, #radioshack, #generalscanning, #selling, and so on. I think it would be a great idea to get direct help, just talk about scanning stuff, and even sell items. Good idea or not?

IRC is pretty much an open medium. It's hard to control who connects to the server and using what method.

A few of us already hang out in #radioreference @ efnet, and by a few, I mean 3 or 4 people. It's hard enough to get people to join on an existing network...I don't think making a seperate server with more than 1 room would help anything.

Plus, it's another thing to manage if you make your own.

Lindsay has no interest in fully supporting a chat feature as there ended up being a lack of interest when we had something resembling it.
