There is no free programming software for the PRO-106. There are 3 choices for software: ARC500, Win500, and PSREdit500. I would avoid Win500. Some members have had problems getting keys after paying for them. The Author seems to have vanished. I use Butel ARC500 Basic to program my PRO-106. Both ARC500 and PSREdit500 have a free trial period to decide which one you like better. What is your city and county and which systems and agencies would you like to monitor?

Looking for free software for the pro106 or if there is none available then which is the easiest to use?
Nothing free for that scanner. WIN500, ARC500, and PSREdit500 all have free 30 day trials, you can try them all and see which one is easiest for you to use.

From recent personal experience, I cannot recommend WIN500. A registered user for years, it worked great until it didn't. I was unable to get any response from Starrsoft. I gave up and switched to ARC500 (still actively supported.)

What programming cable are you using. You will need to install the driver. If you go to the Scanner tab in ARC500 and click on Install USB Driver, it will install a driver which will work with many cables. If you are using a Whistler cable, there is a separate driver for that. Here is an ARC500 file for Catawba and Horry Counties for you to try. You can also import the file using PSREdit500. Copy the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Open the extracted file with ARC500. Connect the programming cable to the USB port on your computer and the PC/IF jack on the scanner. Go to the Scanner tab and click on Upload to Scanner. When you first load the scanner, only the Catawba County scan lists will be enabled (1 thru 7). Horry County uses scan lists 8 thru 12. Scan lists 1 thru 11 are talkgroups on trunked systems. Scan list 12 is the conventional air traffic control frequencies for the Myrtle Beach International Airport. Scan lists as follows:

SCAN LISTS:
1. CatCo Services
2. CatCo Interop
3. CatCo Emerg Ops
4. CatCo Fire/EMS
5. CatCo Multi-Tac
6. CatCo Law
7. State Hwy Patrol
8. HorCo Fire/EMS
9. HorCo EMS/Hosp
10. HorCo Law
11. SC Hwy Patrol
12. MB Intl Airport
