I attempted to update my iScan software. I believe it is version 1.0.0. It said there was an update available and that it would also download a small "updater" file. When I attempted to execute this download, it said "Error downloading updater file". It did not download anything. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Make sure you run the iScan software as an administrator. That may resolve your download issue, especially if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7 with UAC enabled.

I am running it as Administrator on a Windows 7 computer. The RS site has changed to where I cannot find any software downloads for the iScan software. I have version 1.0.0 and loaded it from the CD I got with the scanner. It still wont download the update because it won't download the update file for some reason. If I could get the update file I would probably be in business

Being logged in as an administrator and running the program as administrator are two different things with Windows 7 is UAC is enabled.

Run the program this way:

Right click on the icon you use to run the program, and select the "Run as Administrator" option from the menu that appears. Then try the update and see if that resolves it. That's what I had to do here to run the update.

YES! That's the ticket! Worked for me as well. Running VISTA Home BTW.
