If you listen to 437.8 MHz, you will hear hams on the ground using the ISS's repeater. For more information check out www.ARISS.ORG

the link describes all the ways the station is used for amateur radio and also covers some other frequencies you may be able to hear. The repeater is easy to monitor when the station is overhead and the repeater mode is active.
