I have searched the posts but to no avail. What are the systems--frequencies present at the jacksonville ports (other the usual sheriff, HP, etc...)?? Looking for US Customs, port authority, Fed agencies etc... I will be traveling there soon.

Thanks,
Mike

Are you talking about Jacksonville FL? If so all the Feds and state people are on that MA/COM system. I haven't heard FDLE on UHF for awhile. I'm not sure if all FEDS are on that system I do not know all the freq's.

You mean all of the Feds (customs anyway) are on the Florida SLERS system?? Geez....why even bother bringing my scanner. I am not much into the routine local LEO stuff, so I am looking for other state and federal stuff (I know that state is a no go) Is there much marine radio traffic?? i could give that a go.

I am not sure if all of them are on SLERS I haven't searched or asked around since the big boys want to be encrypted. If you bring your scanner the Jacksonville SO is encrypted and you can pick up the F/R. I think Customs here are *DHS*. Marine Traffic in Jax not sure on that.

There is plenty of Mil-Com up in the Jax area too. I hear lots of Marine stuff in the Saint Augustine...an area south of Jax. I have heard plenty of Coast Guard Activity, pretty much anywhere near ports on the coast.

Update on feds

Feds still have the VHF system (using for special ops), but are using nextel for routine ops. They are not using SLERS as standard comms.
