Stat=STATUS just means active or expired/unused license
Mob is number of mobiles they are licensed to use
Pag is number of pagers licensed for use

none of these concern a scanner, except you don't need to scan an inactive/expired license if no one is using it.

"If no one is using it" being the key part of that sentence. Many agencies continue to operate on expired/unlicensed frequencies, so it never hurts to check and double check that an expired license is indeed actually abandoned by the agency. There's really no harm in leaving a handful of frequencies in the scanner even if they're expired, you never know when something is going to pop up.

true, i know a certain city very close to me that has not held a license on 2 of their VHF channels in over a decade yet they use both daily! too bad the FCC does not pay rewards for turning in illegal operators! ;)
