Congratulations Chris! What are you going to be using for a radio? I see from another post you're in Livingston and Monroe county areas, so give a shout sometime if you're around Rochester on the 444.850 repeater. My call is KC2NYW.....

Congrats! You are now a ham:) Get your feet wet in 2m/440, than you will get that taste to want to get on HF, which than you can go for your general. Got mine in October and studying for my extra now. Please post your call when you get it!

Just FYI.. You don't have to wait for a "paper ticket" to arrive in the mail any more. As soon as it shows up in the FCC data base you can make your maden transmission. Congrats and enjoy meeting some great people out there. I have enjoyed my short time a lot.
