I have been hearing turnpike troopers here in Chanute most every evening, they don't come in during mid day but towards late afternoon and eveing they boom in.,
anyone else hearing them ? Last night was hearing Kansas City Troop dispatcher but wasn't hearing much car to base traffic....

You won't be hearing very much car traffic from the KC area on the system. They have found out that there are huge holes in coverage up there so they went back to using the Johnson County and KCK trunked systems. The only folks you will hear on digital in Troop A are the Leavenworth and Miami County Troopers.

Radio techs were busy in Topeka this afternoon on 1230 (Troop B Ops) testing the KHP's new mobile data system. The techs were confirming when data was being send and received by voice - I didn't pick up any of the raw data traffic.

Here in Salina, I was hearing KTA on ID 419 yesterday afternoon and evening. Also, I heard some tech guys on ID 239. They were talking about aiming an antenna that was moved by wind, but I don't know what tower they were talking about.

I drove the KTA to Oklahoma last weekend and the old high band system seems to be entirely gone now. Everything was on KSICS digital. Bob, w0nxn
