I have the SDS100 with an antenna on the roof. I am only about 10 miles south of kenmore. I have not heard a peep on their new P25 system at all. I have about 6-8 hrs of monitoring it over past couple days. I have my radio programmed for 460.500 mhz and NAC of B23. Anyone out there been picking them up? I know there is not a lot of activity in village of kenmore but not hearing a peep is weird. tks

If you did not remove it, do you hear them on the analog freq that’s listed as depreciated? Have you tried the P25 without the Nac?

Possible it’s encrypted?

Generally quiet, however, as posted, it's correct. I just listened to them pursue a vehicle on the frequency as posted in the DB.

I will have to continue to monitor it. I just programmed it as conventional as well. My original programming was P25 one frequency. I have not heard a word on the new system yet. I have no issues picking up just about every other agency in western NY with the 2 antennas I have on roof.

Going off your prior post, I’m a few towns further way from them than you, and that was with my roof discone using DSD, however I also received them on my portable at the same distance while in my house, so the signal can’t be that bad.

I just to get why I have not heard a word. I have had it on now for past 2 hours and nothing. I know kenmore is fairly quiet but this is a bit much. I am in south cheektowaga. I have a omni X antenna on roof. I also have a UHF yagi facing north for niagara cty P25 system. I have not heard a word from either antenna

Try a different SD card.

Stupid question.
You do have the Service Type "Law Dispatch" enabled, right?
Your conventional program (TEST) will work

yes "law dispatch" is enabled. I know my system is working. I just picked up Erie PA simulcast system which is about 80 miles away from me

Let's start with the basics. Were you monitoring them when they were analog, and if yes, did you receive them loud and clear or was there some noise in the signal?

I had no issues listening to them on analog. I did not monitor them reguarly but when i did it was loud and clear. The village of kenmore is only about 10 miles north of my location.

If you were able to receive them full quieting on analog, you should be able to receive the P25 signal well enough to reliably decode it.

I would suggest programming 460.500 in analog mode with no PL and see if you're hearing "digital noise".

To adjust the squelch on an SDS100, press the Function button (green button on the side), then press down on the Volume knob. You can then use the knob to adjust the squelch level up or down. A good starting point for squelch is around level 2 or 3.

I am familiar with the squelch. When programmed for P25 i actually had the squelch set at zero. When i set it up on analog setting the squelch at 0 or 1 brings in the static. I currently have the squelch set for 2.
Currently I am doing a "Search for". I entered 460.500 and the input of 465.500 just to see what i can pick up.

I also have a vertex VX-P824 radio I used to use at work. I programmed that for kenmore on 460.500 NAC B23. I put on a diamond srh77ca antenna. That radio has not picked up kenmore as well. I have no issues with Town of Tonawanda P25 system. Tonawanda and kenmore are right on top of each other

Do what I suggested, listen to the frequency in analog mode to see if you hear any noise. Oh and you might want to try bypassing your outdoor antennas and see if you get anything with a portable antenna.

What happens if you program without the nac?
nothing, still do not hear a word. Currently doing a custom 3 at 465.500 and custom 4 at 460.500. This should pick up any broadcast on these 2 frequencies and still not hearing anything
