Kenwood TK-880h-1 VER 2

I recently purchased a pair of Kenwood TK-880H-1 VER 2 radios to use as GMRS units. They have an extra coax coming out the back with an sma connector and are connected to a module that doesn’t look like it came from the factory. If anyone can help out I’d be greatly appreciative. Photos below.

I'll bet that radio is programmed for GPS, right?

Looks like a GPS module to me.

Is the GPS enabled in the software? That'll be your confirmation.

Looking at the service manual, the wiring is set up for sending serial data, ground and 5volts. With the SMA, I agree, it's a GPS module. You should be able to cut the wires and remove the unit. You'll need to remove the programming, which I'd assume you'd do anyway.

I just got the units in today and haven’t powered them up yet. I’ll take a look and see but I’m thinking gps also. Anyone need 2 gps modules!?! That’s for y’all’s help, greatly appreciated!
