This fire is taking off at near 1000 acres already. I have the standard Kern fire channels, but I know that they are on simplex tacs somewhere. Can anyone tell me where? I have a yagi pointed right at them and I'm hearing wiffs of si9mplex on the output if the repeater. Also White 1 now VFire-???

Command is Kern 5, Tacs are V Fire 22, V Fire 23, White 1. Unless you are in the area you will not get the Tac's. They did have Tanker 910 the DC -10 yesterday, not sure if it will be back today.

But why? I can hear far better than the multi-agency scanner feed. I am using a yagi pointed right at the fire and I am hearing excellent comms. But the frequencies I have are those from the database here and I know that there are additional. I have added VFIRExx and VTACxx. Some traffic on VFIRE21 which I guess is the old White 1?

Thank you to the person that feeds the feed referenced above but with the frequencies offered I can provide a better feed. I'm in Lancaster and can put up a feed of Radio Reference allows a temporary feed. It sounds like I have most of them already.

Who has this now? Is it still Kern or did CDF take it over?

The IC is still a KCFD BC. The command channel Kern 5 151.1000 is the only ne that is on the repeater. In Lancaster depending on where you are you can get all of the KCFD channels very good. You can even get Kern 4 which is not supposed to be on the east side. All of the Tac channels are line of site so if someone is on top of a hill you can get them.

I can hear all of the dispatch channels on the Austin Ferret that until now I thought was a waste of money. A friend of mine made an excellent galvanized steel bracket that attaches it to my DirecTV dish mount prebuilt into the house. That suckers stands straight up into our high winds.

But I also have a log periodic yagi covering 134-174MHz with 6-9dBd gain. It is very effective. Aimed at the fire across the valley I am hearing simplex comms.

So I guess that this isn't a CDF fire as I had read on Wildlandfire.com.

Primary air-ground is on 151.3100. 135.975 tanker base and 166.875 air attack are all busy.

Yeah it is an air show and crews/dozers fire. Most of the rolling stock is for structure protection. It is not in the SRA land getting near some BLM if I heard right. BLM will be shutting some trails down near Rosamond.

...

The fire should be using White 1 (not VFIRE21), as that channel has not been narrowbanded yet (and won't be until next spring at the earliest), as per the State plan (CalEMA Fire & Rescue Bulletin 28).

Care to share a pic of your DirecTV mount? Sounds like an awesome setup :)

I believe the defined use of White 1 is not as a Tac, but as a mutual aid, and mutual aid command frequency.

Any chance any one here might be willing to feed all the Kern County dispatch channels?

I just got in from work and it seems that they've left Kern frequencies. I am not hearing anything at all and I had this quite well yesterday. Would someone please share the comm plan so I can put a stream up for everyone to listen?
