Just to let you know that John Seamons, the KiWi developer, has added the EiBi short wave database to all KiWi WEB SDR's using (firmware?) v1.470 onwards.
The database is displayed as a series of coloured marker tags in the banner area of the waterfall display.
You can swap between the local and EiBi databases by using shift-click in an empty spot of the label area above the frequency scale. Or alternatively use the keyboard shortcut "|".
For further information click the 'help' button at upper right of the label edit panel in the lower left corner of the screen.
Note that as EiBi database does not provide a definitive signal category for each station, a custom heuristic was developed to classify each station into one of the 12 categories shown. Some stations are still misclassified, notably "out-of-band" broadcast stations. The goal is not to resort to a list of specific exceptions, as John wants a heuristic that can be applied to the twice-yearly EiBi database updates, no matter how they change.
