The whole department is running their last Code 3 as I am typing this. I can hear the sirens as they parade along I-164 for the last time after 28 years service to Vanderburgh County residents. I will certainly miss 6ADAM60 and 6ADAM61 as first responders. You guys will be missed and it is a sad day for all of us in Knight Twp-out. Good luck and best wishes !!!

The Evansville City Fire Department has taken over all duties for Knight Township Fire Dept. EMS is provided for Vanderburgh County by AMR Ambulance Service. Central Dispatch has just completed "Out of Service" roll-call for the whole Knight Township Fire Dept and they are officially in "Stand Down" mode and "Out of Service".

Its sad to see them have to shut down like this. I hope the "former" township Trustee is pleased with them self for causing this to happen.

Yes, I have the audio saved on my Hp-1, but I don't know how to access the file and post it here. If there's a way I will post it later. If anyone out there knows how I can do this please advise.

They did a HECK of a job for Vanderburgh county and surrounding departments & communities when requested.

It's a shame what happened to them and NO department deserves that type of closure.

Pardon the caps, this "closure" just hits a very sore spot in my heart & soul.
Probably due to my 17 yrs of volunteer fire & rescue service.
