Its simple
Firstly go to the bank you want to prog in Win97.
Set bank to MOT.
Type in all the freqs for the system.
Set ALL of them to MOT.
Type in the text tags you want.
Go to the Talkgroup ID section.
Type in the ID's and Text Tags you want.
Save.
Upload to scanner.
Scan away!
You ONLY need to enter these 4 freqs into your scanner for Knox Co. trunk:
857.2125
858.2125
859.2125
860.2125
Then do the rest that MILF instructed.

And also in the Win97 program under the channels tab on the right hand side, there is a table with three lines and the box says MOT custom trunking table. Do I put them frequencies in there? My scanner has a button that says trunk on it, I would like to have it set up to where I just press the trunk button to listen to Knoxville if that is possible. Thanks
Quick suggestion.. read your owner's manual for the 97 so you have a basic understanding of just what it can and can NOT do... (Interesting fact that the manual does NOT mention CC Only for the 97?) Using Win97 you do not put the freqs in the custom tabble slots as this is for setting up specail options for trunking systems that are not needed with the Knox County system. You place the freqs in the normal spots, and set them to MOT as we told you. You can track the Knox County/Knoxville TRS from anywhere in the county,.. and from at least 10 miles around the county. The Trunk button is for entering the trunk programming mode.. Storing new talkgroups, etc.. There is no way to set the scanner up for trunktracking scanning with a single keypress of TRUNK. If you program in all the systems you want to monitor correctly,.. then all you have to do is lock out the banks you do not want to hear.. and scan the ones you do.
That might be tough without an outside antenna. When I am traveling down from I-81, I cannot get the signal until I hit the 417 mile marker on I-40, but that is in a moving car. If you already have your scanner, put in the control channels and put your scanner on manual then step through the control frequencies to see if you get the "machine-gun firing sound". If so you should be able to scan the Knoxville system. Analog systems like Knoxville are easier to monitor from the fringe areas than the digital systems.
I live in Cosby and I can hear the trunks data channel but it won't stay locked on it.
If you have an outside antenna then maybe you can, our big problem is English Mtn
that blocks the signal.
