Does anyone know why they sometimes patch channels (Blue 6 & 12 =, Blue 1 & 3 or Blue 6 & 7)?
I assume it may be due to a call being near two areas so patching freqs makes sense. Anyone know the real reason? Thanks

It can be they one dispatcher covering the two channels if things are slow or a dispatcher has too much going on another channel.

It could also be a lack of staffing ( i.e vacation, sick or other things) or one dispatcher just went on a break so another is covering both areas. We may never know the real reason as it may be multiple reasons.
