I've just tried adding this system to my radio with very poor results. I entered two of the systems, as seperate systems. The Countywide with 20 frequencies and the 14 Freeway with 3. I live in Santa Clarita and thought the 14 freeway would be my best bet. I get zilch on the 14 sys, not even a hint that the PSR-500 sees trunking info. Near home I get solid trunking information on the Countywide but really lousy and low level audio. Tried switching to RS800mhz antenna, tried switching to NFM. Surprisingly today I've been in Burbank and Hollywood where I expected improvement but it's worse. I don't even get constant lock to trunking data and the audio when I get any is even worse than out in Santa Clarita.

Any ideas ?

The freeway 14 system is gone. It is being moved to Oat mountain, but due to some interference issues it's not on the air yet. There is a new site at Blue Rock, but I'm not sure what the frequencies are.

If you're in Hollywood regularly, use the basin system. It's on PV and gets into Hollywood pretty well.

Well that would explain the Zilch part pretty well. Glad to hear it'smoving to Oat. I get that real well. I'll try Basin.

The LA County trunking system has always been weak in Santa Clarita, last I heard it was on Mt. Dissapointment, which doesn't work well out here. You will have to use an 800mhz directional antenna with either a very short run, or very low loss cable.
