Lake Charles Site

Does anyone know if the Lake Charles LWIN Site is Simulcast or not. I know that tower was lost during Laura and rebuilt a year or two ago. Several months after it was constructed the Sheriff announced they were going to be doing some upgrades to that site for better communcations and coverage, etc. I was curious if the upgrade was due to maybe going Simulcast with it.

That site hasn't been updated in RR for 12 years now, I would highly suspect it's now simulcast. It's using the state frequencies so you can't tell by licenses unfortunately.

Also worth noting there's a 2nd site license there that includes 6 of the frequencies listed on the current Lake Charles RRDB listing

It is not simulcast. The Sheriff's Office has added four other sites in the parish over the last few years. Moss Bluff, Starks, Bell City, and one at the jail.

Do you know the site and or CC for the site at the Jail? I never new about that one. Every so often I do a custom search and never came across it unless it was very recent. Been about six months since I searched. I do know right after the storm they had a state trailer site erected there temporarily until the Lake Charles tower was rebuilt and since been removed

Unitrunker shows 4-035 and CC of 854.0375. I have not monitored it to confirm. I only monitor the Sulphur site for the most part.

Just programmed it and does work. Pretty stong signal and active traffic.
