Does anybody know anything about the Lakeland Fire Department that used to be station 28-1 in Camden County? Where were they located? When did they close?

I just found out there was a hospital called Lakeland that must of closed during the 90's. They must had their own department.

Lakeland was a complex in Gloucester Twp operated by Camden County. It had a few healthcare facilities, nursing home, children's detention facility, animal shelter, fire training facility, etc. The county operated a fire station with one engine and an ambulance. It was shutdown in the 90s

Shows in Google Maps at around 400 County House Rd, Blackwood, NJ. The road also goes by the name of Woodbury-Turnersville Rd. It's near the intersection of Lakeland Rd. Single bay, 2-story station. Don't know what it's used for now.

The building is still standing and I believe the county may house a vehicle in the bay that is used for haz-mat or health department.
The engine was 2811. The EMS service was provided by Gloucester Twp. EMS. Back in the day the Camden County Park Police patrolled the grounds. There were numerous county departments housed in Lakeland. The sheriff's office also kept some of their specialty trucks down there. I attended the Fire Academy in Lakeland in 93. It was definitely an interesting "town".

Former neighbor worked their part-time. The engine and the ambulance both ran under the name "Camden County Hospital Complex FD". Ambulance was 28-16 not part of Gloucester Township EMS. Ambulance was taken out of service several years before the engine. Glo Twp then provided EMS.

Lakeland is still an operating healthcare facility, not sure what services they provide now. There are other activities there also such as the Juvenile Detention Facility, the Camden County Police and Fire Academies and there is a National Guard facility. As stated before, the FD was shut down some time ago and the fire engine is now used by the fire school.
