Hate to be a cynic, but I hope the test fails. The last thing I'd want is another county to go silent thanks to Ma/COM...

Yea well there is always a bright side, like probably LANC CO will have a convencional simulcast repeater freq when that happens which could be a great improvement in monitoring FD communications in the county. As it is now their antiquated low band simplex system is the pits for monitoring the county from a distance!

The last I had heard - I work in the county - is that there will be no simulcasting when we switch over. One cut off date, and that's it. Last date I heard was early 2008 for police. In-building testing is starting soon, with foilage testing to follow.
