They are mostly encrypted however, sometimes they forget to flip the little switch on their radios to keep them encrypted. Also, if they are very busy, they will grab their backup radios which are not encrypted.

However, you can listen to DPS as well. Also, LISD Police just switched to Apco 25 and are now digital.

Sheriff's office is about to go digital as well

Buy a homepatrol, they work well!

From what I understand, they have the plans in place for digital but not the funding. So I doubt it will be anytime soon.

However, I just noticed that LISD Police just switched to Digital.

At least they sound much better now!

i thought LISDPD was encypted when i was hearing it when it was analog. Hey i have a question for you guys. Do you really think its fair to encrypt the fire dept. I mean i understand PD, But why encrypt the FD.

Cuz they don't want KGNS chasing them to every accident.

I don't get it either however, they have a beef with KGNS.
