This has been going on since around 3pm this afternoon. Multiple roads shutdown from around Washington Park Mall area, all the way down to past 2400rd.

Washington County Emergency Management,
Bartlesville, Ochelata, Olgelsby and Ramona FD's,
Sheriff's Office and Red Cross , and a few others are all on scene...

Looks like it will be awhile before ONG can get anyone out to fix this. Multiple residential neighborhoods and business's have been evacuated from 75 south and north.

Will post again in a little while...

Time for an update:
its currently 6:36pm and its a total cluster up here. They are trying to keep traffic flowing around this site but the via the county roads. Also they have shut down Highway 60 West . They are having mulitple accidents cause of all the idiots.

7:00PM--
they have opened the southbound lanes of 75 ONLY.
They have now opened 60 east bound as well.

And its still a cluster up here. if you have any plans to come up north on 75 or know of someone who is, please urge them to take another route. otherwise they will be in the middle of this cluster

Kary Cox, Director of our EOC decided to bring out all available help to assist in directing traffic and helping PD, Fire and EMS work multiple 76's, and 82's that were occuring due to morons talking on cellphones while driving down the highway and rear-ending people stopped at roadblocks and those people who seen fit to attempt to go into the opposite lane of traffic to get around a wreck or pull a U-turn in the middle of the highway in the same lane...

Red Cross came out to provide food/drink to all the EOC, Fire, PD and EMS units that were out from around 2:30pm this afternoon till around 8-8:30 this evening trying to sort this mess out...

People were dodging barricades and ignoring traffic signal trucks trying to keep them going the right way to the detour route off the highway, and just doing all sorts of stupid stuff. Not to mention there are 2 LARGE assisted living facilities right in the area where this happened, and many homes and business's that had to be evacuated.

Well that's interesting. I figured those guys would be salivating over an opportunity to go play radio. Maybye they should send 'Scotty" up there to get in the way. After all he seems to be ready for this type of event. Regardless, I hope everything goes well and no one gets hurt.

There is really nothing in the way of a ARES or RACES group up here. Don't know why. One reason might be because the W5IAS 440 repeater that was up here has been down for over a year and i think alot of people have lost interest in it.
Plus, I like the people in WCEMand all, but they are the biggest bunch of "legal wackers" I have ever seen. The worst one of all is WCEM director. If someone farts wrong he takes off lights and sirens blaring. But I guess he wants to be more active with Emeregency Management.

bswst,

A couple of points -

First, the Bartlesville link repeater is back up, and has been since June or so. It's not at its permanent location (tall tower) but at the owner's house (shorter tower) so the range is less, but that doesn't affect it in Bartlesville proper - it just creates some dead spots and gaps between it and Ketchum, Ponca, and far southern Wash. Cty where you would normally use it instead of those repeaters (or Tulsa).

Second, see the thread a while back about a serious whacker in Wash. Cty EM being arrested (iirc) - the legit hams don't want to have anything to do with that kind of stuff (but don't tell Scotty!). And the WCEM director (per your comment) sounds like he falls in the same category. I know from a couple of hams that are revitalizing the Bartlesville club that not only do they not want to have anything to do with his whackerism, HE doesn't want to have anything to do with them.

Third, the W5IAS linked system would normally be a poor choice for EM activities. Local (county level) EM interfaces with local (county level) ARES organizations via local (usually 2 meter) repeaters. The link system covers 1/3 of the state, and (during emergencies - feel free to use it whenever during "normal" times) should be reserved for the "long haul" comms, as in Skywarn spotters back to NWS Tulsa from the outlying areas or outlying areas coordinating with or requesting help from Tulsa. (Mutual aid from Tulsa being likely in any truly large event just as a function of population - it's where the people/companies/agencies/etc. that have the resources to help are concentrated).

AH. Thanks for the update, i will have to do some local searches on the frequencies cause i havent heard any activity on the Bville W5IAS repeater frequencies that are listed.
Yea the director of WCEM is pretty bad. when they have an oversized load come through that needs to bypass the HW75/Adams Blvd. over pass, he is usually the first to lend assistance. WCEM just got a brand new 08 Chevy Silverado truck for the director. (mainly because some moron t-boned the old truck and totaled it) This thing has more LED lights on it than the space shuttle. It puts some of the OHP cars to shame. It really does.
and its not just the director. Many of the members of of WCEM have red blue lights on their personal vehicles. (and last time i checked that was illegal) but thats ok. One of these days something is going to happen and the State Emergency Management and/or State DOT/DPS is going to come down on Washington County and thats when heads will roll. Mark my words.
