Hi, Im going to visit Las vegas & now my question is how do i program the las vegas Trucked radio system since it has gone through being re-banded. I have the Uniden 396T with the latest firmware and using the ARC396 But-el program to program my scanner. And also does anyone know what kind of range the hotels on the strip have on there radio systems. to listen to It would be kind of cool being able to listen to some of the different hotels when your in only one. But i would imagine that you be pretty much on there property to be able to listen in.

anyways Thanks.

If you want to listen to about 85% of the traffic, program in 853.9000 as your control channel. You will need to put your scanner into control channel trunking only mode you will also have to select custom band plan and entered in the rebanded information (below if needed).

Are you using software or doing this by hand?

If you are doing this by hand and are not already aware, here is the custom band plan information you will need to enter into your scanner. If you are already aware then ignore this, however someone else may find it useful:

Band Plan Base Freq (Lower) Base Freq (Upper) Offset Polarity Spacing
1 851.0250MHz 854.0000MHz 440 + 25 kHz
2 851.0125MHz 868.9875MHz 0 + 25 kHz

Good luck and happy scanning in Vegas. The talk group id's that you may be interested in listening to can be found in the Radio Reference Database, otherwise put your scanner into talk group id search mode and listen in on all the traffic.

By the way, I have been able to listen to most hotel properties, depending on the type of radio system & equipment they are using several miles to about 10 miles away from the property. Have fun.

Are you sure about that frequency 853.900?
Didn't see that as one of the frequencies
actually doing a search for that freq in the whole Nevada comes up blank

EDIT:
JUST did an FCC search and came up with this:

FCC Licenses for 853.900 in the State of Nevada

Licensee Frequency Callsign Stat City County Svc
Southern Nevada Area Communications Council 853.90000000 WQLV227 A Las Vegas CLARK YE
Southern Nevada Area Communications Council 853.90000000 WQLV227 A North Las Vegas CLARK YE
Southern Nevada Area Communications Council 853.90000000 WQLV227 A CLARK YE

New Freq
no one updated the database I guess

The best I can come up with is they may be using Mototurbo or Nexedge from what I can hear on my scanners. Here's their license:

WQLD332
ARIA RESORT & CASINO HOLDING LLC
3730 LAS VEGAS BLVD S
LAS VEGAS, NV 89109-4312
Eligibility
90.35A1 - RESORT & CASINO OPERATIONS.

451.5375
452.0375
452.4125
452.7625
452.8375

thanks for the help..... I did find a total of seven frequencies through Cityfreq for both the Aria Resorts and CityCenter.... but if they're unmonitorable.... then ooooh wellll.

Can you tell me if 853.900 is a good frequency for Clark County, as it does not show RR data base.
Thanks Ed

As mentioned by Vegas_Eric on 8-11-2010 be sure to program 853.9000 into the Clark County frequencies. This frequency is a new one, not listed in database yet. I also use 853.4000 853.1875
and 853.0750 as these are suppose to be new channels in North Las Vegas.

Thanks 3mary2 for the info, I will be staying on the strip and will program all control frequencies in RR data base and include the ones that you said I should add. I believe that is a total of nine for Simulcast Las Vegas.
Thanks Ed

It wouldn't hurt to add the 853 frequency, but I was at the Paris for 2 weeks and never saw that freq come up as a control channel while I was there. But yes add it to the list

I would like to monitor the Las Vegas Fire Dept. and also Reno Fire Dept. In the Database in RR under Trunked Radio System, It asked for Radio Sites, I clicked on all of them and system says that will not work and I should only use the control channels. I live 8 hours away and do not know what mountain top antenna would work best for those two fire depts.? I would also like to monitor Neveda Forestry Fire. Can someone help me with the Trunked Antenna sites? There are 32 sites and I have no idea which one(s) I should select.

Thanks

I will be staying at the Luxor soon. Why is it not monitable? I will have a BC785d with me. I understand it is using Nexedge. What is Nexedge?

Thanks,

From the database page:Luxor Hotel and Casino Trunking System, Las Vegas, Nevada - Scanner Frequencies

The Luxor now uses a Kenwood NEXEDGE trunking system and can no longer be monitored on scanner.

I will have a BC785d with me. I understand it is using Nexedge. What is Nexedge?

Thanks,

This link will explain NEXEDGE:

I know this is an old thread, but with that emission designator they are running MOTOTRBO.

Are other freqs in this thread correct? Im going to Vegas soon, staying at MGM.
