Over last weekend I was monitoring lawrence county as usual with my BCD396XT (love it!). Sheriff Dispatch is still being used as:

155.68500 KNEQ452 R 162.2 PL Lwrnce SO 1 Sheriff Dispatch FM Law Dispatch

and also on 800MHz (safe-t). When monitoring the above conventional frequency, I hear them say go to TAC. And then, on the same above frequency, I hear garbled talking from them. Anybody who monitors around here know what this might be? I know Bedford PD uses encryption ALOT on safe-t, but I didn't know if this is encryption or something else. You can tell it's them talking, but it's garbled a lil. And it's like they flick a switch and can do it, and then flick it back off and you can hear them again. I'm missing all the juicy details and their opinions on the matter. Scanning is getting worse in this county... Thanks and have a Happy New Year!

Thanks for the reply! Not a bad price for that gadget. Not sure if I want to invest in it at this point in the game, because they have been assigned talkgroups on safe-t, and do use them occasionally. Then they will be like Bedford PD and encrypt. Be nice if that was as easy to break.
