I am listening to a swat standoff on 06 024 on the LCRA talk group. I am in san marcos but have no idea what agency it is. It could be training but I would like to know what agency it is.

Seems you may have a quest.

The tg follows the Hays County group, so that may be a starting point.

Happy Scanning

use site 907 and make sure LCN 01 is on channel 1 then enter the other frequencies in the appropriate LCN. The talk groups are correct on the RR database.

I figured it out. I needed to create a new system aand make it EDACS Wide. All the pre-loaded systems have it as narrow but only wide works. Why?

One of the quirks at the programmers bench, I suppose.

You would think that the newer 396's would be updated.

LCRA is a wide area system, but it is an EDACS standard, not wide

That is just how the Uniden scanners have s Standard system labeled in the scanner's programming. They usually let you pick from EDACS Wide (9600) EDACS Narrow (4800) and EDACS SCAT.

For some reson though some of the transmissions are very faint and I can barely here them. They aren't staticy or anything just very faint. I this fixable or common.

the few 900 EDACS systems I have monitored all had low volume. I don't know why, its a pain as if your scanning New Braunfels and Comal County, the county is too loud if you turn the volume up for the NB.
