Lexington Monitoring

Just curious as to what everyone can pick up from Lexinginton. I've tried Madison County trunked public safety, but can't quite grab it.

Have no problems with Woodford County, Louisville Airport, and of course the Lexington freqs.

So anyone picking up anything interesting on a regular basis from neighboring areas?

you should be able to pick up quite a bit.... standing outside with my hand held I hear as far south as Boyle.... as far east as Powell, north to Grant and eastward to Shelby (I don't have Louisville programmed).... the Madison TRS, however, is another beast, it is difficult to receive in the northern half of Fayette County..... sometimes the Scott TRS is a problem as well...

I was once playin around and piped my Antron 99 CB antenna into my RadioShack Pro-97, and pulled in Lexington from Russell County.

When I'm in Richmond with my fiancee, I can recieve Lexington easy. Lexington Police are VHF Hi, while Fire and EMS are EDACS trunked I think..

LPD is pretty easy to pick up far away. I faintly picked it up in southern Garrard county with a PRO-99 and it's rubber duckie.

Just build a new OCFD antenna, anxious to see if I can pick Richmond up any better with it.

well when I lived in London I could pick them up with my scantenna all the way from London. LEX PD VHF HI that is.

I will be in Richmond this weekend.. AGAIN..

Will be bringing my Pro-97 to keep me company while I'm waiting on her to get off work.
