I recently purchased the Lido Vent mount for my car based on the photo below and that it was FOR the SDS-100...

Unit As Advertized.jpg

However what I received has a huge faceplace as shown in this photo...
CLIP-FACE.jpg

As you can see the large face plate interferes with the battery cover and makes it very difficult to attach to the radio and will probably cause undue stress that will eventually break the faceplate.
CLIP-FIT.jpg

While it "works" I am a little disappointed that this is what they shipped.
Works But Hard To Attach.JPG

When it breaks, I'll probably get a replacement holder to attach to the unit.
Just an FYI in case anyone else is considering this vent clip holder for their SDS100.

I'd be more concerned with the button on the SDS100 breaking.
Yeah, I thought of that too, I may just take the Dremel to it on my next day off. I'll also be ordering a 3D printer next week so this may make a good first project.

Yet alone the weight of the 100 bouncing and pulling on the vent tabs...
Plus in the winter all that heat blowing on the radio...

I'm not too concerned with the vent tabs as it does not seem to bounce around.

Yeah, right now it has the A/C blowing on it making it nice and cool, but this is only a stop-gap measure until my other plans come to fruition.

Take a look at one of these. Looks like it might work. They make mounts that are vehicle specific. I have a Unication G4 coming and plan on get this mount for my F 150. That particular mount attaches to the defroster vent up by the windshield the follows the contour of the dashboard and snaps into the top of the center ac vent

Thanks, but I just ordered a Prusa i3 MK3S+ so I'll design and print my own holder to attach to the main unit when it arrives in a few weeks.

The face plate is the same on my cup holder mount. I use for my G4. It works ok, but the clip needs to go over the top. The G4 belt clip is too wide to fit in the slot.

I had s lido vent mount for a mobile radio faceplate. After a while every time I drove over a good bump in the road it would fall down. I eventually threw it out in frustration.

Good Morning,

You were shipped the wrong item. I would be happy to send you the correct item. If you could send me your address, I can get it out on Monday. jim@lidoradio.com

Thank you, I emailed you back with a snapshot of your message shortly after you posted this. I'm looking forward to receiving it soon as I have to go on a trip next week. Thanks! (y)

Ah hah! This is cool, so looks like Lido changed the product. There are now two mounts.

This is the older one, best suited for the BCD436HP. For the SDS100, you must use your own belt clip (turn the mount so it looks like that), otherwise for other radios and scanners you may use the notch with the belt clip button:

This is the "newer one" that uses the belt clip button only, and can overcome the battery hump of the SDS100 by being a smaller profile mount. I think I've seen this style before for a microphone holder, too but this one appears to have a notch to lock it in place:

Yeah, it works, and was surprised I never thought of it, but then I simply detest belt clips, especially this monster-sized one on the SDS100, so that's probably the reason it never came to mind.

After I finally located the clip, I tried it out, but in the end decided not use the scanner in the car until the replacement arrives. In the case of the SDS100 they make a bulky scanner even more cumbersome. And I'm not a fan of having to remove or replace it every time I get in or out of he car.
