Alright, first, I'm making an assumption which i might be off my rocker about. Different models of antennas, especially 5/8 wave VHF are going to have different amounts of their length given by the loading coil right? I mean, isn't this the reason for cutting charts?

Anyway, assuming that's true, is their any performance difference (in any application) in how much of the antenna's resonant length is from the loading coil?

The loading coil is what makes the antenna or whip electrically longer. Many antennas are way too tall @ 1/4 wave to be reasonable in a mobile installation. Many times base stations use a loading coil to shorten things up a bit.

The shorter you make the whip or the more you load an antenna to make it smaller, you will lose efficiency.
