In general, from what I have seen EC45 are medical. Those are the former MBB117s, but they are now Eurocopter. EC35 are MSP. As I type this there is a H60 over the Cape.

Generally, the news helos seem to come out of Norwood or Lawrence and the traffic helos out of Lawrence.

Ch4/25 share a helicopter, I think.

2009 was when WPRI's helicopter was taken out of service. (LIN owned WPRI and WTNH). Fun fact, one side of the bird had a "8" logo and the other had a "12" logo. When shooting video for 8, they'd use the "8" side camera, for 12, the "12" side camera. But they haven't had one since. I never replaced any of the transmitting gear in the chopper for the Nextel conversion project in 2008, either. They used to also use the 450.4875 repeater to communicate with the chopper but that was recently taken offline.

Did some googling of Bell Ranger N812TV...It is 8 on one side and 12 on the other...Love it

When I worked for WMYS/WNBH we has a Dodge Caravan painted the same way one side FM98.1 and the other 1340AM !

After Finding N812TV I went looking For N671 which Has been long retired and that registration is on another aircraft now ( Lancair IV-P )

A good blast from the past . Looks like Lin Broadcasting re-registered the aircraft when they Purchased or Leased it ?

N38BZ (WBZ chopper) is circling something near Franklin Park right now too.
