Logging/Recording Scanners

Does anyone have a way to log and record your scanner on your PC? I would like the software to log the channel/frequency and audio of the conversation. Right now I have GoldWave and it works pretty good but I dont get the channel or frequency of the transmission.

Depends on which scanner you want to log I guess ...

I use Advanced Virtual Control for my 246 & my 396 - it will log system/group/channel/frequency/Tone/start time/end time/date &&& of course audio.

What I would love to get is something that can log talkgroups while in search mode. That would greatly assist in identyfing new channels.

New channels? I think you mean new talkgroups...

If you are getting the 996T, then the software from Butel will be something to consider. It does logging/recording and lot of control and programming. I am liking the beta very much!
