You can't find anyone because, unfortunately, there aren't any dealers in the area any more. You're about 40 years too late.

well thats not 100% true but try gem electronics in farmingdale as they have uniden scanners only. they also can order a model not in the store. also, pm electronics in babylon has an assortment of used/new scanners. be on the lookout for the may hamfest at briarcliff college in bethpage. many older refurbished scanners can be found there. good luck!!!!!!

Don't waste your time or money going to LIMARC's Hamfest! It's usually ALOT of junk that is worthless !!

As for a good scanner store, take a ride into Flushing Queens and go to Stuart Electronics 79-12 Parsons Blvd off Union Tpke and as for Peter.

Gee, I've been buying (and selling) worthless junk for 30 years?

Part of LIMARC is seeing old friends - people I've known for 30 years, 40 years and longer.

Peter's good people. But he's one. I can probably find one old friend/10 square feet at LIMARC.

I'm not going to debate the SOCIAL ASPECT of going to ANY hamfest, but in my years of experience, you find the worst crap at a LIMARC hamfest. I prefer the hamfests in New Jersey, Upstate NY or New Hampshire over the same old same old here on Long Island.

Yes, Peter is good people and I have known and dealt with him since 1972 !!

Take your antennas off you car. Mine got jacked in the parking lot there a couple of years ago. And I have parked in bad areas of philadelphia and b-more without a problem.I was able to buy a replacement on the spot but i was p*ssed off. I was able to get a bunch of minitor 1 parts for $1.00 though

Yes, I have also heard of these horror stories where as cars being broken into with ham radios, scanners, and other valuable items being stolen as well as the specialized antennae at LIMARC, Hall of Science and Yonkers Ham-Fests. I have also witnessed police busting some dubious looking people selling stolen Motorola mobile and handie-talkies as well as stolen Motorola and G.E. repeaters. You can get some real low-life scum coming out to these NYC-LI area radio flea markets (LIMARC, Hall of Science, Yonkers, etc)
