I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm looking for the frequencies for the Scranton Housing Authority. I'm trying to find the security frequencies. I have checked the Radioshack police call book and couldn't find anything. Now I don't know if their frequencies are listed under Scranton City frequencies or not. I have heard them accidentally transmit on the Scranton Police department 453.375 frequency, so they have to be UHF. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The city has many licensed repeaters on UHF frequencies that aren't identified in the radioreference.com database. I wonder if the Housing Authority uses one of the following:
453.200 ?
453.850 Possibly Scranton PD ch3
453.950 ?
460.050 ?
460.500 Possibly Scranton FD Fireground

And a UHF simplex freq:
460.025 (simplex only)

I looked at these websites:

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=2275

My question is this:

0453.2000 SCRANTON PD, PL None
0453.9500 SCRANTON PD TAC, PL None
0460.5000 SCRANTON FIRE, PL None

I know the above are listed in the FCC database but has anyone actually HEARD activity on them???

I have been constantly scanning those frequencies and have yet to hear anything on them. I'm wondering if the housing authority frequencies aren't listed as belonging to Lackawanna county.

Just curious what sort of activity you'd expect to hear on a housing authority frequency? I'm not sure I'd be able to tell it was them.

Its the security channel I'm after. They work in most of the Scranton housing projects. The security officers are usually first on scene of any kind of incident involving the housing projects. With the scranton projects they way they are these days, they should provide some action, before the police even get the 911 call.

Isn't it ironic how the people, who are already receipiants of services funded by tax dollars, who pay little, if any, taxes, get extra public safety / security protection paid for again by taxes, when the ones who end up paying for it through their tax dollars must wait extended periods for a Police officer to help them with situations that often involve the aforementioned receipiants. Interesting the way things have evolved in this country.

Cool...great info. I was up in Gouldsboro this weekend and listened in on a working house fire in the Big Bass lake Community.
I also monitored Scranton all weekend and only heard stuff on the PD 1 and 2 and both fire channels. I'm not sure where I got those other three freqs...I guess they're nothing.

Sounds like someone with a "signal stalker" should go up there--Park nearby and listen.

I have done that at several locations and it's amazing what u hear ;-)

Lol you know what I live within 2 blocks of one of those housing projects and didn't even think of using signal stalker. I'm going to try it right now. Thanks!
