looking for some to program bct8 scanner for Pinellas County

I do not have a pc with a com (db9) port.. So the software will not work .. lol I thought of that already Thanks though..

I amd playing with it trying to learn.. It's a slow process.. on my part..lol

You can often use a USB-serial converter with the software (ARC8 or Scan Control are probably your best choices). There are many off the shelf generic ones that are known to work well; some of them are linked here, along with a fairly detailed discussion of setting things up...

You can also do this manually - the thing that always screws people up is programming a trunked system, and our wiki also has a handy how-to on that subject, as it seems to come up time and time again...

However it looks like you have a newer P25 system set up in Pinellas, and the BCT8 won't be able to trunk this...I would ask (and look!) around in this forum to see if this system is going to grow. If so you will need a digital trunktracker for this system; and before you ask yes, it will hear all the analog stuff too...

Best thing to do is go through the learning curve and spend the time and just do it! Programming takes a lot of time, but you're going to learn a lot more that way.
