When I plugged the GPS into the scanner with a conversion cable the GPS was not powered. When I plug the GPS into a USB power source it powered up.

I'm planning on no power at the port, and charging the scanner when I have the GPS plugged in.

The scanner USB port does NOT supply power, so you will have to have a Y-cable that goes between the scanner the GPS, and a USB power source.

Also, the USB version of the puck won't work. The only version that will work without extra conversion circuitry is the BR-355S4. The connection between the USB converter and the BU puck is TTL, not RS232.

I got my SDS100 last week and the Uniden BC-GPSK Serial GPS Receiver came in today. The DE9 Male to scanner connector cable has the old 4 pin connector on it which will not fit the SDS100. I could exchange it with Uniden, but it would be much faster and less of a hassle just to put a DE9F on the proper cable end. Does anybody have the pinouts for such an adapter cable, or at least the pinouts of the DE9M connector which has power and the GPS output on it?

Or, is this the wrong model and it needs to be exchanged?

Thanks in advance.
