What type of wire do you guys use for a loop antenna ?...
Magnetic loop? Army loop? Frame loop for receiving only? Active multi-turn loop, or perhaps a YouLoop type? Maybe a Wellbrook/WellGood-type active receiving loop?

More information is necessary I’m afraid otherwise it won’t be possible to answer your question.

When it comes to loop antennas, generally any gauge wire that will support the weight of the loop will do. I'd start with 14 gauge stranded, but you may need something stronger given the length of the elements for 160m.

14ga stranded copper clad steel is pretty standard and will hold up ok on long runs but the National Electrical Code has size requirements for wire depending on length. For transmitting the NEC requires minimum of 10 AWG hard drawn copper or 12 AWG copper clad steel, bronze or other high strength material for runs are longer than 150ft. For runs under 150ft you can use 14 AWG in any of the materials mentioned above.
