Sigh, why can't the answer just be given without the nitpicking?

Yes, when referring to trunking systems, sometimes LTR (standard) is referred to as EF Johnson.

You will also see EDACS referred to as GE sometimes.

You will also see (incorrectly) P25 systems referred to as Motorola (they are not); but this mistake is laid at the feet of the scanner manufacturers who continue to incorrectly associate these two.

Kenwood and Motorola both manufacturer LTR trunked radio systems.
And the point of this post is what?

Again, the OP wanted to know if when referring to systems, LTR is sometimes called EF Johnson. The answer is yes. Lets see, EF Johnson makes Smartzone equipment, but we still call a Smartzone system a Motorola system. Just because M/A-Com makes APCO-25 compliant systems, we don't call a P25 system a M/A-Com system (just for the record, we don't call them EDACS or Motorola either).

To have about the same point as your post.

Settle down, Lou. Everything will be okay. :) We still like you even though you got up on the wrong side of the bed today.

Ryan,

I think at least I answered your question.

I am closing this thread since there are people who just can't seem to get the idea of answering a question is the point of posting in reply to a question.
