Alright, trying to tackle an LTR system. It is not currently in the database, but I have all the freqs and they are in the correct order per the Automatic Home Repeater function. I have yet to hear anything while attempting to monitor this system. I have a wildcard setup and am simply monitoring the wildcard t/g. I can "analyze" the system and get the idle bursts on the freqs and once in a while hear an morse code auto-ID. Anything else I can try? If I had filled unused channels with other freqs would that make a difference?

Thanks!

No, a lot of LTR systems are being phased out so you may have one that has very few users left. You might try to program in the frequencies conventionally with the delay off to see if there is any voice activity at all.

I know that this one is still in use, local city public works dept. Would there be any way to tell if this is one of those other forms of LTR that isn't "scannable" like LTR Passport?

I was playing around with an LTR system the other day. I noticed that it was pretty quiet, but if I went to the control channel in manual mode with squelch off, I could see talkgroups in use flashing on the screen.

There were more talkgroups in use then in listed in the RR database for my area. Thus, that said, perhaps you are seeing something similar to what I was seeing the other day, an otherwise busy looking LTR system as monitored on the CC, or a quiet system while running trunked. I don't get it, but I just started listening to LTR systems so I'm still learning.

I did notice the same thing, T/G ID's showing up when having one of the freqs monitored, but still could not hear anything.
