Being new to this whole arena, I don't know if this is considered a new thread or not.
Are there any scanning programs that MacIntosh/linux can open?

And as someone mentioned in the new baltimore city system thread, there are a couple of programs that can be run using VMWare and Windows XP.

The TCL/TK software above is for the Uniden XT scanners...best regards..Mike

Under a WinXP VM on my Mac I successfully use ARC396, ARC500, Freescan, and the Win9x versions all thru a USB to Serial adapter. Works just fine for me. I just used Freescan and ARC396 last night to update a few scanners.
