11:17 am fire is out, lots of smoke. No evac as yet.

We are sitting on the edge of our seats....

In limbo right now. Called for Fans from County Fire Stations, to evac smoke, to avoid jail evac. All city police, Madison Co deputies still in the area, standing by. FLASH, have enough fans, cancell that call.

State police asked to cover Madison Co roads, but could not, so they called in offduty deputies.

Sounds like some inmates returning to cellblocks.

Radio usage was about normal for A/MC EMA , fire and police except that HASMAT and some county fire used SAFE-T 48-Fire (TG 37376). A-Fire has returned to their stations. At 1:20 pm, HASMAT is still taking readings from the air in the jail.

County dispatch operations are on backup status also. Sounds like they have dispatch operating in different areas, they are communicating entered calls by radio to be toned out by someone else.

How about an update.

Why not listen to them direct instead of waiting for "updates". The incident was on SAFET, plus on city and county frequencies which any scanner should "hear" in Greenfield. I hear them in my house on stock antennas....and get blown out by the outside antennas on city and county channels from Anderson/Madison Co.

Problem is I was not in Greenfield, I was at work. Only radio I was listening to was our 800Mhz trunked system.

Even at work I listened to other areas on scanners.... gotta know what the neighbors are doing....
