I seem to be getting alot of noise on VHF air & UHF air,VHF low band.
I don't know if it is the atomosphere, snow, cold or what. Sounds like static.
Any body else getting noise?

Jack when it's that broadbanded it's much more likely to be 2 things; a local source, close by. Anything from a light dimmer, crappy transformer connections, an outside light about to go out, a flourescent light on the fritz...you could probably write a book on the number of things that can cause noise - and another book on how to fix it.

The only way to really be sure is to take a portable with a short antenna and walk around, noting when the noise is weaker/stronger. I would select a noisy VHF air frequency that's not used in our area and start taking notes. Process of elimination works here.

Interference

Jack, I agree with Mike. In addition a long while ago I posted re similar problem with my Pro-96 when working at my desktop computer and in the kitchen. No noise elsewhere.
This makes no sense to me, but I solved the interference and don't even know why I tried it. Out-of-the-blue went and got some aluminum foil and wrapped it around the entire antenna. Ever since in those two "noisy" spots the disturbance is blocked by the foil, but the digital signal isn't. Go figure. Cheap solution, but it works. Something is leaking at the computer and in the kitchen and I hope it isn't me.
