I know Manitoba Hydro is using DMR Tier 3 system. Pretty sure they are single frequency multi-site systems. I'm only getting brief odd snippets of conversations. Signal is strong, only a few miles from the repeater.

I am using an Anytone 868 radio set to Digital monitor, Timeslot 2, any Color Code and any TG.

Am I doing something wrong? Any one listening to this system?

I'm here a lot
There are no Channel ID's listed at all for any site. Perhaps those need to be filled in properly.

Thanks, not much info on this system, I'll look into channel id's. Pretty sure it's single channel repeaters, just not sure if a single channel Tier 3 system can be monitored with a Tier 2 radio. Hopefully someone local can chime in.

Bigun,

Try tuning the system using an RTL first. I tried once and got some decode (poor) but never played with it much. I think I did not have a VHF antenna for my RTL at the time, I do now and I might try again soon.

But try RTL to gather info first.

I tried to get MB Hydro going on DSD+, but the listing does not seem correct on this site, or I don't get a CC anyway. Anyone have success running MB with DSD+? What is the CC in the Winnipeg area?

Does Tier 3 DMR have a CC or just data when channel active? I read on Tier DMR in meantime.

I had no issues tracking MB Hydro from the Winnipeg site using DSDPlus. I think the control channel was 164.460MHz? I had to adjust the channel numbers to work with my Uniden scanner of course.

While I was out there working, I made a few corrections as someone had submitted the inputs as repeater outputs. I can verify the Grunthal, Winnipeg, Portage La Prairie and Neepawa sites were all working last last year.

There's a power plant just north of Winnipeg which seems to have a single channel site that isn't linked to the system.

I will try again at home tonight, I'm at work and it's a metal building so I may be deaf on VHF here.

I believe the Winnipeg site is at the main MB Hydro headquarters. Can't remember the street name but it might have been Pembina?

I'm totally deaf for Hydro at work but when I get home I'll give it a try. I did make good progress and was getting traffic but my frequencies file was set incorrect, thanks Ed.

Is there much voice traffic on this system, or do I have to wait for bad weather?

What are IPI calls on this system is that GPS? If so can I get LRRP going?

Which file in DSD+ do I put the site names in?
