I will be in Bloomington from the 23rd thru the 26th for business. Is there anything else, besides what's already in the RR Database, that one should program in to thier radios?

I like to do 'radio scouting'. Basically, I take my BC246T, set it in search mode within Hi-Band, UHF and let it store what it finds and try to identify it from the FCC Database.

I know there's quite a bit of stuff listed under business and other sections in the DB.

I'll submit what I come across when I get home from my trip since I don't know if I will have internet access from the place where I will be staying.

This is what I listen to in Bloomington-Normal:

With a 246, you can still listen to ISU (but not ISU PD), IWU, Rural Fire/EMS, Bloomington PD, Bloomington Fire, Lifeline Ambulance, and Illinois State Police.

Do you use ARC246 - if so I can post my MEM files for McLean County.

There are a lot of business users on LTR systems in the county as well as conventional UHF repeaters. Many have been identified either in the RR database or on this wonderful webpage:
http://www.mcleancountyema.org/freqs/countysearch.php?county=McLean&state=IL

I've tried to identify as many business users and LTR TG's as I can for McLean County and submited them to RR.

If you have other questions about scanning in B-N, let us know.

I'll be taking my PRO-96, also. But, while I'm in 'training', I'll leave the 246 running in 'search & store' mode.
