Hi All, I noticed that Menards and Walmart are using radios, wondering what frequencies stores operate from. The way the antennas look they apear to be UHF radio, I've seen some Kenwood and Motorola Mag One's in stors.

If anyone hears the Sam's Club (WalMart members only) in any community still using 3 or 4 watt radios on 151.6250, report them to the FCC enforcement office in park Ridge, Illinois. None of them are licensed for that itinerant business channel.

They were using them the other day (since your post) in Appleton, Wisconsin, Outagamie county.
151.6250 67.0PL Sam's Club
I was physically in the store listening with an earphone to my scanner so I know it was them. So ah ... how do you report them,
if it's true? If a license expires don't they have a grace period? Or were they never licensed? And is there a national or state license that sams covers all there stores with? When I have time I'll check it out I guess. I could probably even see if they're still using them the next few days.

Assuming we don't need your location because you checked in the business section of your county. Aside from what people already posted here is my county's frequencies:

154.6000 67.0PL Menards (Express Ct.)
469.5625 023 DPL Menards (Integrity Way)
old:MENARDS W. (Integrity Way) 154.57000 CT179.9

154.5700 WNYH623 CSQ Wal Mart (E. Calumet St.)
154.6000 WNYH623 110.9TSQ Wal Mart (Mutual Way)

Otherwise look up common frequencies somewhere...like:

From The RadioReference Wiki
Common Itinerant and Business

FCC Industrial/Business Page

These are typically used nationwide across the United States

look it up and scan through the frequencies listed there.

They never had a license!

151.6250 is an ITINERANT frequency for businesses NOT IN A FIXED LOCATION. Sam's Club can not legally use HT's on that frequency inside a building and at a single location with OR without licensing.

Contact:

FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
ENFORCEMENT BUREAU
NORTHEAST REGION
Chicago District Office
1550 North Northwest Hwy, Suite 306
Park Ridge, IL 60068

OR call the FCC Enforcement Tip lIne phone number listed 1/2 way down the page located here: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html

Detail your observations including frequency, location by address, dates, times, and any other info that would help the agency's field monitoring personnel to resolve the situation.

I guess I have to ask, why would anyone care to report this? Can't imagine this being any sort of obstacle to others using this sort of "free band". I call it a "free" band because itenerant radios are used nationwide as a commercial/business fixed and mobile "CB" for numerous purposes. I think the FCC has better things to do

Ditto.

The Menards that I've heard have all used 154.570 (179.9)

I've seen these two listed as Menards also:
F1 469.5625 dpl 023
F2 467.8875 dpl 065

The WalMarts that I've listened to have all used 151.955, 154.570 or 154.600 (CSQ).

I have seen the following listed for the Wal-Mart in Niles, IL though:
467.8125 (179.9)

Found the Super Walmart in Plymouth (Sheboygan Co) using 154.600 CSQ
They must be using low watt radios. The signal was lost by the time you got out of the parking lot and could not be monitored at the Fleet Farm next door.
Hard to interfere with other users with that kind of coverage.
