A new FCC grant for (3) 460xxx FB2 stations YW Public Safety Trunked at 6 locations
with antenna special conditions. There is plenty of co-channel in NJ.

The present Mercer TRS has zero frequency diversity and is bound to solely 500MHZ, which is subject to TV19 Tropo.

Perhaps this is an attempt to have some alternates during tropo events.

That makes sense, thanks. Full time job to get that done.Letter’s of concurrence.

We are in the 5th year after the FCC DTV repack and systems every year slowly continue to fall.

Have to wonder why a block of 700/800 channels is not utilized.

Late summer 2020 the alarm bells started ringing noted in this thread.

So rather than simply reprogramming their current UHF repeaters and subscribers, you think the solution should be to spend millions of dollars purchasing 700/800 capable repeaters and subscribers? The system isn't even TDMA, so maybe we start there by acquiring these non-T-Band frequencies and upgrading to TDMA to maximize the efficiency of those newly acquired frequencies.

Good points! Co- channel stations, plus UHF tropo in play, time will tell.

Wonder if they will explore the possibility of migrating to the NJICS in the future? Could get a 700 allocation or even build off the Trenton site of that system. Not a lot available on 453/460 and 454 isn't really a possibility since there are SMR's in that range.
