From their webpage MetCom 911
it stands for 'Metropolitan Area Communication Center'.

Speaking of which I heard then tone out a call for 63's a few days ago. It was in South Metro's district but it was only for the 2 Cunningham Units. Are they dispatching for Cunningham again?

Thanks! Must have been because it was in district? Anyways, I just reread your 1st post - for some reason I thought it said 'What does it stand for:).

Anyways, AFAIK it dispatches for South Metro & West Douglas.

Cunningham has no plans to move from Littleton Dispatch to MetCom in the forseeable future. However, MetCom communicates with them on M/A or Auto-Aid calls.

It's not uncommon to hear Elizabeth, Cunningham, Franktown and Littleton units being dispatched by MetCom since they use Closest Unit Dispatching. Cunningham 63 is much closer to a lot of incidents off of Arapahoe Road than Station 42. You'll also hear move up tones go out for Elizabeth and Franktown quite often, the status of those mutual aid units is always maintained to ensure the closest units are sent.

You could always click here for more info:
MetCom 911

Also, completely off topic, but found it interesting:The dispatchers at Metcom work 24 hour shifts. The shifts are broken up into A,B,and C shifts, similar to FD's. I don't know about you, but I think that takes some dedication! Thanks toneslider, and all the other dispatchers at Metcom for your dedication and day-to-day work!
