Some of the info in the wiki is outdated but there is still a lot of good info there including the Michigan MOA’s.

Special Use Airspace & Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace

This is the best map I’ve found. The active MOA’s show up in yellow when they’re scheduled for use and show up in red when they are active. No more letting the scanner run for days hoping for activity. When Lake Huron lights up you know it’s on.

New to the group and forum. What is the intent of keeping tabs on military aircraft that operate in the SUA?

A rather odd question to ask a scanner forum especially as it is your first post but I’ll take the bait.

Speaking for myself the intent is the same as listening to police, fire, ems etc. It’s simply interesting to hear what is going on around you.

131.750, KFS Dispatch 00:00 - 00:20am, trying to get ahold of the flight follower, no luck “Kalitta Dispatch Kalitta Dispatch, 905 Charlie Kilo….”

125.275 YIP Tower 00:05am. Telling fire and OPS371 it’s an Alert 2, gear door issue and that the crew is going to have to hold for 1 hr and 40 minutes before bringing it in, they’re holding around the Salem VOR currently, also told OPS and Fire to return back to their houses and they’ll be called back out again closer to the time of arrival.
