quite often narcotic talk groups will be encrypted or have at least one or two radio ID's that arn't

I currently use a Radioshack Pro197, but have used Whistler WS1040, WS1065, any scanner that has scan list functionality.

I am from Cass County also. I monitor Cass County fire. And Cass County Sheriff when they talk to on other Deptartments on that Dept Freq.

The Radio Shack in Niles claims that Cass County Sheriff Dept on a private band, that no scanner can monitor. Is this true?

CCSD is now on 14P911 on MPSCS. I can get you the TG info if you need it. I listen on my Unication G5, and have several members of the community that listed on Bearcat scanners.
there is always confusion on the MPSCS Trunked P25 systems.
When you go get training in LE, or Fire on 800 P25 Trunked systems they stress constantly (if you speak it into this radio, almost ANYBODY CAN listen.
Unless it is encrypted it can be heard and probably is being heard..
