I have a question about those "65XXX" talk groups that randomly pop up when a user is affiliated outside of their normal system. Is there a chart somewhere that lists all the possible "65XXX" combinations a system can create? And what is the spacing between them? If the total isn't too outrageous, I'd like to try programing them all into one group so when I'm scanning in search mode with Middletown's system, I can control the volume using the -1, -2 and -3 option. Right now, in search mode, the digital talk groups (especially VSEC tones, etc.) are extremely loud as compared to other stuff monitored.

Here is a partial listing to show you that they are even numbers only but other than that - they are randomly handed out.

They mostly seem to be even but 15 out of the 114 I have logged are odd (which might mean I logged every even number).
So you would need to enter all of the almost 200 groups from 65336-65534

A little cross posting there, but I get it. Thank you.

The CLMRN ISSI groups start at 65336 and end with 65534, the last P25 talkgroup and include both odd and even.

65535 is reserved as an all call for the system

Just a follow up on this. I finally put all those 65XXXX talk groups into the software and uploaded them. I was afraid of the scan time greatly increasing 200 talk groups later, but it really didn't to my surprise and works quite well. Thanks to all. By the way, stupid question, what does ISSI stand for?

I also noticed an "F" car sign of in Middletown (the start of this conversation) and only have to assume the CLMRN must have many dead spots in Middletown, or their radio chooses the strongest tower/system to affiliate with.

It is more likely not a question of dead spot but of stronger signal. Also, you are dealing with portables vs mobiles. A location that is good for a mobile may be poor or dead for a portable. And it is a sharing thing, Middletown has better coverage in areas outside of the city when a CLMRN site has a stronger signal.

Increasing the number of TGIDs won't increase scan time since the scanner scans the control channels - not the TGIDs.
