Every once in a while I see fighter planes fly over the metro area. I'm sure that they could be crossing the country from one base to another, but it's also possible that they are from the Oklahoma area as well. Are there any military aircraft frequencies other than those listed on the Tinker AFB and Air National Guard pages that are fairly active for these planes? I used to have a good antenna setup when I lived in Maryland and heard quite a bit of activity on the military aircraft band. Now I am somewhat limited in my antennas but know that I should still be able to hear some activity. With Tinker being so close, as well as all the other bases around, what are the best freqs for listening to the planes while they are up, as opposed to listing to the ATC frequencies? Thanks.

You probably see a lot of the T-38 trainer aircraft from Vance AFB in Enid. They do a LOT of training flights within the OKC/Will Rogers Airspace. There are also T-6 Texans doing the same from Vance. We have a lot of them through WRWA on a daily basis. I know they operate on the standard ATC freqs for Will Rogers. As far as the freqs for bird to bird, I don't know.
