Good evening,

Milwaukee County is hiring an additional Radio Systems Specialist position! If you are interested in joining our team, check out the link below for more information.

Milwaukee County Radio System Specialist - Link

Under minimum requirements:
  • Current Wisconsin resident at time of application.
  • Current Wisconsin Driver's License
These requirements really knock out a massive amount of your candidates.

Seems unusual to exclude non Wisconsin residents from applying in addition to people with a valid out of state driver’s license.

First time ever seeing this from a government organization.

It's not abnormal at all that an applicant needs a DL in the state of employment at hire or that they reside in the state in which the position is located. There are numerous legal and tax reasons for such requirements.

Perhaps I’m used to working with a much smaller candidate pool than you guys (pharmaceuticals scientists) in many cases we have to sponsor people on work visas.

Great for the people living in Wisconsin who might want to apply for this job, but not so great for out of state candidates. I’m more surprised it is a requirement for a government agency than anything. I was unaware they could legally disqualify someone based upon their residence.

Off topic from radio so I’ll end it with that.

Good luck to the Wisconsin residents who apply to this position.
