I want to wean the P25RX off of my laptop to a smaller footprint PC. I am looking at a pc with the following specs: Intel Celeron J4125 quad core 2.7ghz cpu, up to 8gb LPDDR4, up to 1 Terabyte m.2 SSD, 64-bit windows 10.

What would be the minimum requirement of a PC to run the P25RX or the P25RX-II? I also have one other weather program that will run on the same PC.

I would think it should run OK, as long as the signal insights tab was closed - Java is a resource hog.

It should definately work on that. I run it on a CF-30 Toughbook with a 1.6ghz Core 2 Duo and 4 gbs of ram with no issues. Its not a very hefty program.

Runs great on my Nuvision 8 inch Windows 10 Tablet. Intel Atom x5 Z8300 @ 1.44GHz and 2 G ram. Signal Insights Tab runs without issue.

As far as physical space, it will run on something as small as a Raspberry Pi4 4GB model (~3x5in). Spec wise those are pretty lightweight compared to the PC you are looking at with only a ARM 1.5Ghz processor. Windows itself is going to be the far bigger resource hog than BTConfig.

Not really. Windows 10 can be pretty lightweight on underspec'ed machines. Java can consume lots of CPU cycles and memory space when running a program that is drawing lines and plotting points - which is what the Signal Insights page is doing. But move to another tab, and CPU resources decline substantially, memory not so much.

What flavor of Linux, raspberry, Ubuntu?
I would try installing open source Java on the standard Raspian OS, then run the P25RXII software / firmware installer. Prepare to experiment / learn how to use your Raspberry Pi - it's not going to be a plug-and-play / seamless experience like running Windows on a capable computer - lots of things need to be configured more or less manually.
